From March 31, 2024 - July 31, 2024 Emirates Sustainable Agriculture Label

In line with the UAE Sustainable Agriculture System, which applies to farms, agricultural products and economic activity related to local production of crops, livestock and aquatic life, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology has issued the "the national Emirates Sustainable Agriculture Label", which demonstrates farm owners' adherence to sustainable agriculture standards within their facilities.

The label requires the use of environmentally friendly resources, demonstrates adherence to local and international best practices, and opens new markets for sustainable agricultural product exports. It also encourages farm owners to produce more efficiently and adopt farming methods that reduce waste and optimize the use of resources such as water and energy.

Investors in the sustainable agricultural, livestock and aquatic fields can apply for the service (certificate of conformity) on the ministry's digital platform. (www.moiat.gov.ae).

Objective:

This advisory reflects the ministry's commitment to increase awareness of the national Emirates Sustainable Agriculture Label, given its importance in encouraging investors and farm owners to produce more efficiently and adopt agricultural methods that reduce waste.

Results:

The public's opinions and suggestions will be taken into consideration in future improvement plans.

From March 31, 2024 - July 31, 2024 Advisory Note: Registering Items for Customs Exemption

In line with the UAE government's objectives to reengineer hundreds of government services, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) is currently looking at redesigning the process for Registering Items for Customs Exemption.

The step supports the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, and MoIAT's efforts to engage customers in the innovation, design and delivery of services, as well as gain customer feedback. Applications for service approval are submitted through the ministry's website (www.moiat.gov.ae) upon completing the required procedures. 

Objective:

The advisory note aims to get customer feedback on enhancing the process for registering items for customs exemption. The service can be found on the Industrial Services section of the ministry's website. The service includes industrial project imports (industry inputs) for machinery, equipment and spare parts, as well as raw and intermediate materials and semi-finished goods for production purposes.

Results:

The public's opinions and suggestions will be taken into consideration in future improvement plans.
