Abu Dhabi: 31 March 2022: Applications for certification bodies to join the National In-Country Value (ICV) Program will open on 1 April, the National Committee for the National In-Country Value Program, headed by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, announced today. Auditing companies have 30 days to apply and will be authorized to issue ICV certificates after their applications are reviewed and accepted.
His Excellency Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, Chairman of the National Committee for the National In-Country Value Program, said: “The national strategy for industry and advanced technology achieved remarkable results during its first year, especially in terms of enhancing the capabilities of the UAE industrial sector. The strategy aims to enhance products, encourage an increase in the local industrial content, and contribute to the establishment of new industrial sectors, with a focus on industries that adopt advanced technology and the solutions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
His Excellency continued: “The ICV program, which was announced within the UAE’s Projects of the 50, redirected about AED 41.4 billion to the national economy in 2021, which reflects the ability of markets in the country to provide high-value investments. The committee decided to allow new companies to be authorized to grant ICV certification based on the demand and need of the market.”
He called on auditing companies from the private sector wishing to register with the ICV Program to apply through the ministry’s website and smart platforms.
His Excellency explained that the ministry has approved 21 companies to issue ICV certificates in the last year, ensuring the highest standards of integrity and efficiency.
Companies wishing to benefit from the National In-Country Value Program are required to obtain an ICV certificate. Certified companies hold a competitive advantage and are supported as part of the ministry’s endeavors to strengthen its ties with the private sector. This strategy aims to empower and stimulate the UAE industrial sector and improve its performance as one of the sectors that attract regional and global investments.
The application form to join the ICV Program as a Certifying Body is available on MoIAT’s website. Companies can download the form by visiting: www.moiat.gov.ae/en/icv/certifying-bodies, then fill out the form and e-mail it to: icv@moiat.gov.ae.
Applicants go through four stages, which include first visiting the website, downloading and filling out the application form, sending the application, then receiving the registration request confirmation. Companies that meet the minimum requirements move to the second stage, in which they are evaluated, and after passing the evaluation, they move to the third stage before being accepted in the final stage.
